Chopping Your Stress Away in Second Life
It is a nice Friday night in this Second Life Game, and you are out for a stroll with your honey, enjoying the sights and sounds after a hard, stressful work week in RL. Suddenly you become aware of these strange chopping sounds off in the distance, with a pause of several seconds after each.
"CHOP!"
pause
"CHOP!"
You draw near, wondering. Are these the sounds of a friendly woodsman chopping virtual wood for his virtual fireplace?
Perhaps, but NOW you become aware that raucous laughter and hilarity accompany the chopping. Is this a wood chopping party gone crazy? Denizens of the dark celebrating the end of the work week with a little mad wood whacking?
Not a chance. Welcome to the latest SL game method for de-stressing. Welcome to Mabs' Guillotine Party, or, "How to Chop Off Your Stress With One Fell Swoop!" Yes folks, my friend Mabs is getting rid of her stress by literally chopping it off her shoulders. With a Guillotine.....
Is it really just a game, this thing called Second Life?
Second Life Game --Is it really just a game? No of course not. Those who say that are in my humble opinion either incredibly insensitive, or males.
No of course Second Life is not just a game. It is more of a "social networking vehicle." To think of SL as being "just a game" would be similar to calling the Phone book just a collection of pages with ink on them. Yes, it IS that, but it is so much more. The same applies to this so-called SL Game, of course.
If it is just a game, why is it that:....breaking up with someone hurts so damn much? I can't remember ever becoming so rejected, dejected, repressed or depressed for losing at Trivial Pursuit or Monopoly. You played those games and you either won, "Yayyyy!! High fives!!! Collect all the money!!" or you lost, "Damn, YOU cheated!" *kicks over the table* But I never wanted to go drown myself after losing a game of Monopoly.....
